SPG just announced their annual SPG hotels category change that will take place on March 6 this year. The good news is: there are slightly more category decreases than increases. Check the link for full SPG hotels list. One of the properties that are worth noticing is Walt Disney World Dolphin climbs to 5 from 4, to match the Swan. There are reports that both of the properties are refreshed, It is interesting to see if the upgrades bring these hotels up to snuff.
“The unofficial king of Las Vegas,” Steve Wynn, has just stepped down as the CEO of Wynn Resorts after allegations of sexual misconducts. He also resigned as the finance chairman of the US Republican party’s fundraising arm in January, since the pressure of tumbling company stock is too much for the billionaire. Of course, there are always two sides of a story. On one hand, Wynn denied the accusations as “preposterous” and said they were instigated by his ex-wife to seek advantage in their divorce lawsuit. But one of the 8 women in this accusation received a 7.5 million settlement. Anyways, all scandal aside, the face of Vegas is going to change.

With the first phase being complete later this year, the expansion of Istanbul new airport is on a massive scales, and here are some numbers to impress you. The new airport will feature the world’s largest single terminal at 11 million square feet with the capacity of 90 million passengers per year. When it is entirely complete in 2028, it will have the capability of 200 million passengers. Good news for Turkish Airlines, as the carrier will be able to fly to more countries than any other airlines in the world while using their primary hub.
