Lounge Review: Cathay Pacific First & Business Class Lounge, Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK)

  • Pro: Renovated solo seats, noodle bar with freshly cooked meals.
  • Con: Lack of international meal options.

After our four enjoyable nights in Bangkok, the time has come for us to say goodbye. And there’s no better way to do it than enjoying the great food and amenities of the Cathay Pacific Lounge, Suvarnabhumi Airport before our flight.

Seating at Cathay Pacific First & Business Class Lounge

The size of the lounge is actually slightly larger than the one in Manila although, for me, it felt like this lounge is much smaller. I guess this is because the seating area is not that crowded in Manila as it is here in their Bangkok lounge where a lot of airlines are using it.

The older Solus chairs are now gone and have been replaced by the “Solo”. I personally like the new Solo chair better as it looks more stylish and matches perfectly with the design of the whole lounge.

Right past the bar to the right is the Bureau where 3 iMacs are located, as well as a more private seating located in the corner. Wifi is also complimentary throughout the lounge.

Food & Bar at Cathay Pacific First & Business Class Lounge

This is Cathay Pacific’s famous Noodle Bar. You can order freshly cooked meals by the chef. I had one of their bestsellers,“Wonton with noodles in Soup” which tasted just perfect.

From the Food Bar, I grabbed some salads and desserts which also tasted very good.

Washroom at Cathay Pacific First & Business Class Lounge

There’s also the usual washroom, baby room, and accessible toilet although there was no shower room which is understandable since one could always use the shower facilities in their lounges at Hongkong International Airport.

Bottom Line

Having visited the Cathay Pacific First & Business Class Lounge in Manila last year, I was expecting to see more or less the same design here in Bangkok (as it also has the famous Studioilse design). Overall, we really enjoyed our visit in this lounge and felt like we were staying in a living room than in an airport lounge (the way Cathay Pacific wanted it to be), plus the luxury of having an excellent meal and drinks to complement our stay.
