I see London, I see France

*Disclaimer I’m sure this itinerary has been suggested time and time again in a million ways, but if you are reading my blog you must at least kinda like the way I think.

Last year I had the opportunity to go on a 8 day girls trip to London. To get there from Alaska it takes almost 24 hours of traveling, and thats if you get lucky! Clearly we wanted to make the most out of our trip. While, I love London and was ecstatic to go back I wanted this trip to be extra special. We were celebrating one of my best friends 25th! I suggested that the 3 of us really pack the week and take a detour to Paris. When Becca and Veronica agreed I got to planning.

We started out the week in London. Luckily we had a cute little flat about 15 minutes walk from Big Ben! This central location was a life saver and I would suggest to anyone who really wants to explore the city to stay in this general area.

Being so close to Big Ben, the London Eye, and Buckingham Palace had some major perks. We loved walking around, enjoying all the history, and being able to hit so many of the major sights in one day.

The next day we did some shopping and hit Chinatown. Making a stop in Chinatown is one of my favorite things to do when visiting a big city. You’ll always find something delicious to snack on!

Next up was Paris! We took the Eurostar it was cheap, easy, and quick. Taking the train is also a great way to see some of the country side and usually less of a hassle then flying. Paris was such a striking contrast to London. London is so chic and clean while Paris felt gritty and high fashion.

Our hotel in Paris was amazing! Less than a 5 minute walk from the Eiffel Tower. Between our awesome location and the Metro we were able to see so many major sights! First up the Eiffel Tower (of course!!) followed by Notre Dame, The Lourve and lock bridge, and the Arc de Triomphe. It goes without saying but between the sights we made plenty of time for shopping, macaroons, champagne, and crepes!

Throughly exhausted from running around Paris and having too much fun celebrating Becca’s big day (we planned Paris for her actual birthday) we made our way back to London. Our first day back in the city was by far my favorite, we began the day with tea time at Sketch, an absolutely adorable tea room. If you live in London or have an upcoming trip, Sketch is a MUST! I would set aside a couple of hours to really enjoy the experience, and don’t forget to check out their bathroom before you go!

After Sketch we ran back to the flat to get ready for Wicked! There is no way we could spend a week in London without checking out a show! And it was such a great one!!

We spent the last full day enjoying Notting Hill and eating our way through a couple markets. While the trip was quick and packed it was amazing. I loved London and Paris, it was the perfect combo for a fun girls week.
